About the Conference
The Faculty of Mining, Safety Engineering, and Industrial Automation at the Silesian University of Technology, in cooperation with the Polish Committee of the International Society for Mine Surveying, cordially invites you to participate in the 18th Days of Mine Surveying and Protection of Mining Areas. The main theme of the upcoming edition, taking place from 22 to 24 October 2025, will be Energy Transition Challenges.
The conference will cover the topics related to mine surveying and protection of mining areas. It provides a platform for exchanging experiences among professionals working in research institutions, mining offices, mining companies, state and local government bodies, as well as in project offices, and companies operating in mining areas.
This edition also covers the issues related to hazards in post-mining areas, particularly concerning the aspect of their development, which is an important challenge during the energy transition. Key topics include:
- legal, social, and economic aspects of mining area protection,
- modern technologies in mine surveying,
- prediction of surface deformation and its consequences,
- monitoring of the effects of mining operations on the rock mass, surface, and structures,
- resistance of building structures in mining and post-mining areas, prevention, and restoration of damage,
- mining maps and the integration of spatial data in mining and post-mining areas,
- hazards and management of post-mining areas during the transition period,
- transfer of surveying and geological documentation from closed mining facilities to the State Mining Authority.
